At AntiquesCircle.com we are able to sell your antiques for cash. If we
like your item and it conforms to our high standards of authenticity
we will buy your item on a consignment basis and pay you as soon as
it sells.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't you pay for my antique immediately?
A: We will in some instances. However we cannot possibly pay out
unlimited funds for every item we are offered. If we agree to take
your item "on consignment" you will be paid after that item sells
through Antiques Circle .com
Q: What if it doesn't sell?
A: We will either return it to you after an agreed period or with
your agreement re-asses its value.
Q: What does "on consignment" mean?
A: On consignment means that you have consigned the item to us for
sale but realise that you will be paid only when the item sells on.
Q: What proportion of the sales proceeds will I get?
A: Between 50 to 80% depending on our appraisal of the items value,
we will agree this percentage with you up front.
Q: Who decides what my item is worth?
A: We will appraise your item and suggest a sales figure. You are
welcome to discuss this with us however when we have both agreed that
is the price the item will be presented for sale at.
Q: What if something goes wrong with the sale?
A: There are rules governing "Distant selling", which means selling
over the internet. We allow a clear 7 days for the buyer to ensure
they are happy with their purchase. We then pay out the agreed
balance to you.
Q: What if my item is damaged by accident or stolen?
A: We will take every step to look after your item however you may
wish to inform your insurers that you are offering for sale a
particular item.
Q: Why don't I just send my piece to auction or list it on EBay.
A: Auctions are often effectively a wholesale marketplace. On the
other hand we are able to get proper retail prices for good antiques.
At an auction it depends if the right buyer is bidding at a
particular time. With our service we agree with you the selling price
up front.
Q: How do I get started.
A: We need to see your item. A photo is a good start, with the best
description you can give on condition and any history of the item.
Q: How do I get that information to you?
A: By email if possible. Otherwise text us a photo using your mobile
phone. Or send a paper photo and description by post. We will need to
speak to you about your item so keep it handy for when we call and
make sure you give us your contact details!
Q: I've got too many things to photograph and describe
A: In such cases tell us about the number of items involved and we
can send an appraiser to visit you whenever convenient.
